YAMAMICHI (literary, “a mountain path”)
This is the tray that utilizes the grain of the tree. This is what Kirimoto recommends as a wood core manufacturer. As for the frame which is on all sides (look like mountains) are made of pure Tamo, Japanese Ash tree.　The panel in the center is made from the natural Japanese ash wood craft board. The frame is a metaphor of mountains that surround on all four sides. Therefore, we named it Yamamichi, a mountain path. As the frames are assembled obliquely, you can hold the tray easily and the trays can be stacked. Japanese ash is durable and cannot be damaged easily, so you can use it daily. It has a high surface hardness and is safe to use with metal cutlery. It is finished with Fuki-urushi, so you can put food directly on it, and wash it using a sponge and mild dishwashing liquid after use. It can be used not only as a tray but also as a plate.
