CHOPSTICKS
The chopsticks made in Wajima go well with the lacquer. They are made with local wood material, Hinokiasunaro (Thujopsis dolabrata) , which is a sticky tree. Wajima Kirimoto introduces two kinds of chopsticks, one is the oval shape and the other is a rounded-square shape. In ancient times, oval chopsticks that were mainly used, required more time to produce and manufacturing had once been stopped. However, oval chopsticks were revived again by the request of the Trial center Industrial Research institute of Ishikawa. They are ergonomic, and can be held easily and are comfortable in your hand. Rounded-square chopsticks which have rounded-edges can be held in your hand firmly. These meet the requirement of who would like to have thick chopsticks.
