    昨年は元旦の震災、9月の豪雨と災害が重なり試練の年となりましたが、輪島キリモトが日本橋三越に出店し、20周年を迎えることができました。
    大変な状況には変わりませんが、前を向いて少しずつ歩みを進めております。
    今の輪島キリモトをご高覧いただけますと幸いです。
    会期中は、桐本泰一が全日在店しております。都合により不在の時間帯もあるかもしません。予めご了承ください。

    Although the year 2024 has been a year of hardship with the Noto Peninsula earthquake on New Year’s Day and the Noto Peninsula torrential rains in September, we were able to celebrate a major milestone, the 20th anniversary of Wajima Kirimoto’s opening in the Nihombashi Mitsukoshi department store in the fall of 2024.
    The situation is still very difficult, however we are trying to make positive steps forward little by little.
    We hope you can see the current state of Wajima Kirimoto through this exhibition.
    Although Taiichi Kirimoto will be in the store all day during the exhibition, he may not be available during certain times.

    日本橋高島屋　〜輪島塗を未来にTSUNAGU〜 Wajima-Nuri for the Future

    令和6年能登半島地震、能登半島豪雨により大きな被害を受けた輪島。
    その地に根付く伝統工芸「輪島塗」を未来に繋ぐ、様々な取り組みをご紹介いたします。
    継承される文化と、新たな広がりを感じさせる輪島塗。
    ぜひご来場ください。 

    ※このイベントの会場売上の一部は石川県立輪島漆芸技術研修所を通じ、輪島塗復興支援に役立てられます。

    The announcement of the exhibition “Wajima-Nuri for the Future ~TSUNAGU~” 

    Period: January 8th, 2025  → January 14th
    10:30am through 7:30pm

    Venue : Event Space, 1st Floor, Main Building of Nihonbashi Takashimaya S.C.

    Wajima, Ishikawa Prefecture, was severely damaged by the Noto Peninsula earthquake that occurred on New Year’s Day, 2024, and the Noto Peninsula torrential rains in September.
    This event will introduce various efforts to preserve Wajima-nuri, a traditional Urushi art rooted in Wajima, for the future.
    Wajima-nuri is a Japanese culture that has been passed down from generation to generation and is expanding into a new era.
    Please come and visit us.

    A portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated to the Wajima Urushi Lacquerware Technical Training Institute to support the reconstruction of Wajima-nuri.

    銀座蔦屋書店「蘇生・創作・輪島塗〜『輪島キリモト』の挑み〜」Revival / Creation of Wajima-nuri Urushi lacquerware 〜The Challenge of Wajima Kirimoto～

    Revival / Creation of Wajima-nuri Urushi lacquerware
    〜The Challenge of Wajima Kirimoto～

    Period: From the 20th of December, 2024 to the 31st of January, 2025
    *All buildings are closed on the 1st of January  (New Year’s day ).

    受け継がれた技術と、長い時間をかけて落ち着かせた良質な木の材料を用いて、漆器木地製作やさまざまな木地加工、家具や木工製品の創作を行う「輪島キリモト」による、漆器の数々を紹介します。江戸時代から能登・輪島の地で、木と漆の仕事に携わってきた桐本家。分業制が確立している輪島ではめずらしく、デザイン、企画、木地から漆塗り、販売まで自社工房で手掛けていることでも知られています。7代目の桐本泰一氏は大学でプロダクトを学んだことを生かし、木と漆が今の暮らしに溶け込むようなものづくりに挑戦しています。

    本フェアでは、輪島キリモトの職人により生み出された輪島塗の漆器のうち、日常使いの器のほか、さまざまな技術の粋が結集した鑑賞向きのものまで幅広く展示、販売します。本物の漆を使って作られた漆器は傷がついても塗り直して再生できるという良さをいかし、能登の震災で処分の危機にさらされた漆器に新たな生命を吹き込んだ「Reborn」シリーズも展開します。

    This exhibition introduces a variety of Urushi lacquerware by “Wajima Kirimoto,” a Urushi lacquerware woodworking company that uses inherited techniques and high-quality wood materials that have been settled over a long period of time to create a wide range of woodworking, furniture, and woodcraft products.

    The Kirimoto family has been involved in wood and Urushi lacquer work in Wajima (Noto peninsula in the northern part of Ishikawa prefecture)  since the Edo period. The seventh generation of the Kirimoto family, Taiichi Kirimoto, has studied product design at university, and is now taking on the challenge of creating products that integrate wood and Urushi lacquer into today’s lifestyle.

    At this fair, a wide range of Wajima-nuri Urushi lacquerware produced by Wajima Kirimoto’s craftsmen will be exhibited and sold, from daily-use vessels to work of art, which are the culmination of a variety of techniques. The “Reborn” series, which breathes new life into Urushi lacquerware that was in danger of being disposed of after the Noto earthquake of January 1, 2024, will also be on display, taking advantage of the fact that Urushi lacquerware made with real Urushi lacquer can be repainted and regenerated even if damaged.
