Damage from Torrential Rain in Wajima

Three weeks have passed since the torrential rain.
Two-thirds of the Wajima Kirimoto workshop and wood workshop were flooded. The entire area of the Urushi workshop was flooded, as well as the sash and door of the working room which uses for sanding process.
After the muddy water receded, our craftsmen and friends removed the muddy water from the workshop. I was truly grateful.
Old towels that had absorbed the muddy water were dried on a stepladder and put in the burnable garbage, and a large amount of wet cardboard boxes also became garbage.
The saved products were temporarily stored in the temporary workshop which was designed by Ban Shigeru Design after the earthquake. The temporary workshop was only partially flooded by the wall.
The warehouse where the wood material was stored had its shutters broken by the earthquake, but thanks to the fact that repairs had just been completed, all the wood material was miraculously safe from flooding from the road, which was like a river. We were a little relieved.
Our craftsmen worked hard at Wajima workshop to thoroughly wipe down and disinfect the final touches. I really appreciated it.
After the office work, we took the sandbags of mud that had accumulated on the lawn to a special disposal area.
About carrying 50 bags, we were exhausted just loading them on the light truck,
All the tatami mats in the temporary housing my family were considering moving into at the end of September have been ruined by the flood damage.
The heavy rain disaster that followed the earthquake damage in January has made us feel depressed, but we are encouraged by the heartwarming messages from everyone.
Your continuous support for Wajima is highly appreciated.
